Today we go down to the Rhone valley in the direction of Martigny. The route takes us through vineyards before leading us in narrow gorges and then on a shady road lined with coniferous forests. The cliffs and waterfalls give way to a passage through a tunnel dug in the rock, then to alpine pastures to finally lead us to the Sanetsch pass (2252m), facing the Zanfleuron glacier. This ascent is considered as one of the most beautiful and demanding in the Valais. during the transfer back to the hotel, we take the opportunity to stop in Aigle and visit the headquarters of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). Visit the facilities: the velodrome & museum exhibiting the bikes that made cycling history.

The queen stage of your stay takes place today.
After a few kilometers you will reach the Furka Pass, the most famous climb in Switzerland together with the Gotthard. Shortly after reaching the summit, the famous hotel Belvedere, now abandoned, appears on the descent. It appears in the James Bond movie “Goldfinger”. The proximity of the Rhone glacier and the panoramic view over the valley and the laces leading to the Grimsel pass invite you to stop and take a picture. The descent continues, the most daring can test the Grimsel on its southern side before descending again and continuing to the Nufenen Pass. The summit marks the linguistic border with Italian-speaking Switzerland. The long descent (20 kms) to the foot of the Saint Gotthard will allow you to recover before the last climb of the day and its 5 kms paved section.
